ADACS Merit Allocation Program – Call for Expressions of Interest for Semester 2022A

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are being accepted for the next semester of the Astronomy Data and Computing Services (ADACS) Merit Allocation Program (including guaranteed time for ESO, Optical/IR and Gravitational Wave projects). The deadline for Semester 2022A EOIs is Friday 8th October, 2021 @ 8pm AEST.

Those who could benefit from the ADACS Merit Allocation Program – either from training or the development effort of software professionals – are encouraged to submit a simple one-page document expressing their project idea. ADACS staff will then follow-up with applicants to set up a discussion with the goal of organising a final application, due in early November.

Note: all applicants must participate in the EoI process in order for a final submission to be accepted.

Please visit this link for specific EoI instructions and for more details about the program.

In Semester 2022A, time in the Merit Allocation Program is guaranteed for:

  • ESO & Optical/IR projects via resources allocated by the Optical Data Centre (ODC); and
  • gravitational wave projects via resources allocated by the Gravitational Wave Data Centre (GWDC).

We particularly encourage applicants with projects relevant to these communities to apply.

For more information regarding this EOI or ADACS in general, please contact Dr Robert Shen, AAL Director of eResearch: [email protected].

ADACS is a collaboration between Swinburne University of Technology and Curtin University; ODC is managed by Macquarie University; and GWDC is managed by Swinburne University of Technology. All are funded under the Astronomy National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) Program via Astronomy Australia Ltd (AAL).
