AAL regrets to announce the 2025 Australian LSST Workshop, that was to be held both in-person at the University of Melbourne as well as online 25-26 Feb 2025 has been POSTPONED until later in the year. We will provide updates to our community once new dates have been scheduled. We apologise for the inconvenience, caused by US funding disruptions hampering Rubin Observatory staff travel.
AAL and the ADACS-Swinburne and ADACS-Macquarie nodes are providing in-kind software engineering effort to Rubin Observatory, as well as hosting an Independent Data Access Centre (IDAC) in Australia, funded through a combination of an ARC LIEF grant and NCRIS funding. This enables LSST data access rights for 47 Australian PIs, and a further 188 Junior Associates (JAs). AAL has also just joined the LSST Discovery Alliance. Unlike previous workshops, this event will focus on “hands-on” exposure to working with Rubin data, but there will be some opportunities to describe the work our community is doing to prepare for LSST science. In-person attendance is strongly encouraged; however on-line participation will be enabled.
